Ipoh Canning Garden famous Chee Cheong Fun

This so called famous Canning Chee Cheong Fun (famous among Canning Garden, Ipoh residence & some outstation fellas who are chee cheong fun freaks) has been around more than 10 yrs at least. It's at a corner coffe shop facing the football field & Canning Garden market. It's the other end along a shoplot where the famous "NGAU LAM FUN"(beef noodle) is.

Personally I don't taste any Big Deal in this grumpy & forgetful old man's chee cheong fun as I've tasted even nicer ones in local markets or other stalls around Ipoh. It's really up to ones' tastebuds i guess.

I like to order..'everything in'.... meaning "chee cheong fun with the mushroom gravy, chilly(green cut chilly & read chilly sauce), fried oinion, sesame and "otak udang" or "Ha Kou" (black shrimp paste)

Anyway just in case there are some bloggers who happen to know about this stall but havent tried..go and taste it for yourself and see whether you agree that it's no big deal...yet so long queue especially during weekends.

The 3 wheel motocycle stall opens around 8am and finishes at 10am sometimes or while stock lasts..latest 11am. Goodluck.

oops sorry Tammy..forgot to be international blog friendly cz i thgt most of my readers are locals or Aseans.

OK i''ll try explain. Chee Cheong Fun is a kind of plain rice flour noodle. Nothing special but only taste good with the additional condiments like sesame seeds, soy sauce, mushroom sauce(optional), fried red onions/shallots, chilly sauce & red sweet sauce and shrimp paste (optional, too)

Very simple and yummy food to most locals in Malaysia. u should try it if u have Chinese stall there. Sometimes you can find the hong kong version in some TIM SUM restaurants where they may wrap big shrimp or BBQ pork inside the rice noodle.

Jacs , personally i dnt quite fancy this Canning garden one coz I find there are others chee cheong fun stall in Kpg Simee market & the pasir puteh tai shue Kiok(under the tree)much nicer with the mushroom sauce which is purer & less starchy. will post it later
