Elegant Pieces of Artistic Collection

On my recently created new blog named ArtisticPhysiomom on blogspot, I was searching for artistic stuff to blog about, ranging from artistic meals to art & crafts, advertisements, hairstyles, etc.

I happened to bump into a great selection of something I would call unique, artistic, elegant & superb craftsmanship.

These Murano glass pieces & jewellery are ideal gifts for my good friend's birthday which is around the corner & a colleague's upcoming wedding.I'm also solely tempted to get one for my own artistic collection particularly the Murano Birds (though I'm not a bird lover). The love bird set would be an ideal ,thoughtful and elegant wedding gift for my cousin brother's wedding in October - one that will be treasured for a lifetime. I find the details and gracefulness captured by Murano artisans are so captivating.

What also caught my attention was the Murano glass pendant. Each piece is handmade in a traditional manner with no two pieces are alike. Be it in my casual outfit, work or night wear, I'm pretty sure these pendants will sure to add elegance, style & artistic pride to the wearer!

Emmm.. so shall I get the Pink Candy Murano or the Black Candy Necklace or Arianna Ruby pendant or...

My gosh! So many to choose , cant even make up my mind on which to get at the irresistible "slashed down prices".

Perhaps you should also pamper & indulge yourself with one of these collections as a great apiece of artistic jewellery & keepsake. Let me know which is your preferred choice , OK.?

Fun with Wall Stickers

During my recent school holidays Penang Trip, I stumbled upon these very nice artistic wall stickers which come in many designs but in 2 packaging. One smaller & 1 bigger ones. There are many different series of them, for various places like living room, kitchen, kids room, bathroom and many more....

Here are some designs which I bought & started my school holiday project at home with them:

1) The living room: Welcome Puppy!

2) Teatime Theme for the kitchen

3) Doggies for the wooden back door

4) Romantic hearts & bubbles for the bedroom

5) Teabreak design for cupboards

Dnt u think these are great ideas to add zest to our old walls & dull spots at home?
I'm addicted to them & will definitely get more!

How was your Mother's day celebration?

As for me, i shared the celebration with a group of Mothers who had stroke in a Stroke centre.

We had a great time making cardboard vases & decorating them with beans, sago seeds, maize and 1cent coins. Then we had complimentary Chinese oldies entertainment by a volunteer & his Chinese opera students.

We also had a small & simple celebration with those strokees (stroke survivors) born in the month of April-June.

As for my family, we just had a simple dinner & lunch without much fanciful celebration as a mourning respect for my dad who departed less than a 100 days ago.

Daddy, we miss you a lot especially mommy. Since the day u left, I had not had a single dream of you. I do pray & hope that this would mean u have reached the Kek Lok Si world and in the arms of Buddha. Bless us all especially your grandchildren & keep us all safe, healthy & happy..and let them have wisdom in their studies & in life.

Bckdated post: Easter Egg crafts with stroke survivors

10April 2009

During recent Easter, I spent about 1 hour teaching some STROKE survivors to make figurines from eggshell for EASTER celebration.

Here's the outcome:

Really glad to see these strokees using their Right brain & coming out with great creative ideas to decorate their egg shells with a littl bit of help of course (due to their functional impairment of their weak hands after STROKE).

LOVE is in the AIR!

Nothing beats sharing your love & spreading love to the less fortunate people.

On Valentines' eve, I spent half an hour with a group of strokees (people who had stroke) in a National Stroke Association, making Valentine roses & card.

Besides trying to make them exercise their hands, my aim was to stimulate their Right brain & also give them a chance to learn how to appreciate their love ones (their spouses for those who still have) & express their love to them.

BTW, I'm also encouraging them to be environmental friendly because the container for the flowers is actually a milk powder scoop & we also used recycle new year cards for the hearts.

In the process of arranging the flowers, I can see many of them are quite stereotype & do not have much Right brain power.

None the less, all of them enjoyed the Valentine artcraft session. Thks to volunteer Mrs Pauline(daughter to 2 strokees) for generously contributing her time, effort & the material for the artwrk. I really appreciate her for being there with me despite having to look after both her parents who have stroke.

What touches my heart was a few of the male strokees actually put in great effort in decorating the Valentine Card & writing beautiful & sweet wrds to their wife. One of them is this Uncle S who travels all the way frm Batu Gajah (about 30 mins drive frm this centre). He joking said to me "I'm afraid after giving this card with loving message & these roses to my beloved wife, she may not be able to sleep tonight!

Another strokee who couldnt speak nor drive after his stroke has gained so much improvement just within 2 months, designed a card for his wife , too. Unfortunately, he couldnt spell his wife's name properly.

Earlier, hubby & I had the intention to do something special & more meaningful for Valentine rather than spending a bomb on candlelight dinner. So we had the idea of sponsoring two 3 yr olds (a boy & a girl) frm an Orphanage home just for half a day to spend time with them & with our own 4 kids. We were so disappointed when the home Manager did not allow this for whatever reason.

So both of us have decided to gather a few other couples & just take a break & have a simple dinner at a friend's cafe to support her tonight.

So what is your Valentine's plan for tonight?
Are you one who is willing to spend money on flowers & gifts to express your love? Or are you the typical one who say "Aiyah evryday oso can b Valentine's Day lah..why want to be victims to cut throat merchants for spending so much on roses on this particular Day?

Have fun & let's all feel love & give love! Those of you who dont celebrate..what the heck just have a great weekend.
