As the clock striked 12midnight, dad started chanting prayers & we all stood beside him..all facing the table full with offerings for the God Of Heaven.
So far we have not experienced none stop rain & drizzle throughout Pai Ti Kong. This year is exceptionally wet year. This could be the change in the timing since this year CNY is celebrated in the month of January instead of February all these years.
After the prayers, we burnt the paper clothings for the God of heaven & the paper Gold...under the drizzle.
Then it was makan time...the mouth drooling siew yook(roasted pork), roasted chicken, steam white chicken(pak cham kai), roasted duck ...to go with Wan Ton Mee(noodle).
After that I surprised darling hubby (DH) with a small cake with a "moo Moo Cow figurine" (he was born in the year of OX on this day 3rd February). Coincidentally our State Perak celebrates the silver jubilee anniversary of our State ruler of more than 25 years reign.
The kids (mine & my little nieces & nephews) enjoyed themselves playing with the POP POPs (safer version of mini fire crackers).
We mingled around until about 2.30am before going home.
Thank God it's Public holiday for Perak after Pai Ti Kong. Daulat Tuanku (Long Live the Sultan of Perak, Sultan Azlan Shah)!
