Bckdated post: Easter Egg crafts with stroke survivors

10April 2009

During recent Easter, I spent about 1 hour teaching some STROKE survivors to make figurines from eggshell for EASTER celebration.

Here's the outcome:

Really glad to see these strokees using their Right brain & coming out with great creative ideas to decorate their egg shells with a littl bit of help of course (due to their functional impairment of their weak hands after STROKE).

sushi mould become rice mould.

I used the sushi mould which I bought from the 100yen shop to put rice instead..my kids love the effect.
My gals finished up all the rice which they would normally have left overs.

Nice?

As for mommy..just eating from a bowl & using chopsticks (quite a long while didnt use chopsticks oredi). Emm dont knw psychology or what, somehow the rice & dishes tasted better. Maybe due to the fact that I brought the bowl nearer to my nose as i shuffle the rice to my mouth with chopsticks..so can appreciate the smell that increase my appetite!!

An ambitious idea...!!

Hi mommy bloggers / daddy bloggers out there.

I have a crazee but not impossible idea here. Thought of organising a little tour to the High 5 Bread Town in Shah Alam.

Anyone for it? Though I won 2 tickets , I still gotta pay for the rest of my family members of 6 who will be going in, too. Yet to collect the tickets.
For those interested , there is a family package for two (2) adult and two (2) children at only RM 48. Normal rates will be charged for additional people.

Have contacted the gal in charge of the winning prizes, she'll send the winning tickets by post to me. Havent decided on the date to go but definitely need to call or do online booking..it's their Breadtown policy. You can go here to read more.

Oooh that would be fun meeting bloggers & their kids whom we have heard so much on the blog but not seen personally..like what some Bento lovers have done, hoh??

Give me your feedback if you are interested...mayb during the school holiday or sometime early next year (depends on the expiry date of my tickets, too!!)

Recycled artcraft..support green living & our women in society!

Take a look at these items which can be bought for saving our planet earth and helping single mothers and mothers with disabled children.

Mini NYOYA basket made from recycled paper

Utility boxes made from ASTRO magazine paper

Closer look of this beautiful box..ideal for birthdays.

Small basket with spiral design and handle...arent they lovely and awesomely handmade?

These are just a few samples bought by me personally. The prices ranges fromRM15-25. There are also bigger baskets which cost cheaper than our ladies leather handbags. The baskets are ideal to put baby items, flask etc.

Why not choose to recycle and help our women in society the next time you are thinking of buying a gift for yourself or for others.

Those interested to purchase can leave your contact through my email.

Need ideas for group play for stroke adults

Some volunteers in a stroke centre have been asking for some ideas of group play therapy or games for adult strokees.

Those of you who have experience organising games in group or for fellowship perhaps could chip in to help light up the thinking bulb!

Try to recall those school days, college days, or uni days where there were simple yet fun and creative games that adults regardless whether they are stroke or not, can play. Later can think out of the box to modify to suit the strokees.
Well afterall it's ideas for charity..ideas for a non-profit organisation volunteers to cheer those strokees. All ideas are welcome...even the conventional Musical chair!
