Laughter Yoga/ Laughter Therapy
Have you heard of Laughter Yoga or Laughter Therapy?
Laughter Yoga (Hasyayoga) is a form of yoga employing self-triggered laughter. The "laughter" is physical in nature, and does not necessarily involve humor or comedy. The concept was developed by Indian guru Jiten Kohi.[citation needed] It was made popular as an exercise routine developed by Indian physician Dr. Madan Kataria.[citation needed] Kataria writes about the practice in his book Laugh For No Reason.
Method
Laughter is simulated in a group with eye staring, frivolity, petting, and deep diaphragm breathing[clarification needed] developing into real and contagious laughter. It is meant to be a combination of laughing and yoga breathing, in order to bring more oxygen to the body and the brain.[clarification needed] Laughter yoga is based on the assumption that the body cannot differentiate between fake and real laughter, and that their physiological and psychological benefits are thus identical.[citation needed]
In the early stages of laughter yoga's popularity,[when?] early morning groups, especially the older men, practiced group laughter in open parks. In recent times, a more formalized version was created and popularized as "Laughter clubs".
Dr. Madan Kataria, a medical doctor from Mumbai, India popularly known as the ‘Guru of Giggling’ (London Times), is the founder of Laughter Yoga Clubs movement started in 1995. While researching the benefits of laughter, he was amazed by the number of studies showing profound physiological and psychological benefits of laughter. He decided to find a way to deliver these benefits to his patients and other people. The result is Laughter Yoga, a unique exercise routine that combines group laughter exercises with yoga breathing which allows anyone to laugh without using jokes, humor or comedies. Kataria's first Laughter Yoga club was started on 13 March 1995 in Mumbai. It began with just 5 people in a local public park, but the concept rapidly spread worldwide and as of 2009 there are more than 6000 laughter parties in 60 countries.
Spreading rapidly in USA, Canada, Europe, Australia, the Middle East, South East Asia, China and Africa, this new concept has been widely covered by prestigious publications like the TIME magazine, National Geographic, and the Wall Street Journal and featured on CNN, BBC, US networks and the Oprah Winfrey Show.

Fun with Wall Stickers
During my recent school holidays Penang Trip, I stumbled upon these very nice artistic wall stickers which come in many designs but in 2 packaging. One smaller & 1 bigger ones. There are many different series of them, for various places like living room, kitchen, kids room, bathroom and many more....
Here are some designs which I bought & started my school holiday project at home with them:
1) The living room: Welcome Puppy!

2) Teatime Theme for the kitchen

3) Doggies for the wooden back door

4) Romantic hearts & bubbles for the bedroom

5) Teabreak design for cupboards

Dnt u think these are great ideas to add zest to our old walls & dull spots at home?
I'm addicted to them & will definitely get more!

Best Mother's Day Experience Ever

As a lady, who doesnt wanna have a feel of looking her best , dressed pretty, have her hairdo , make up & nails done by the professionals - all sponsored?
This dream gave me the inspiration to sign up for the "My Lovely Mom Award" competition held just recently on Labours' Day.
Registration fee was only RM 50 and contestants got the chance to do studio photo shoots by professional with all make up & hairdo & 1 dinner gown sponsored during the photo shoot. They will be wearing the same gown during the Finals on that competition Nite. Besides, the contestant will also get 2 8R portraits where one will be sent for competition judging and the other for self keeping.
Really had great fun learning how to groom, how to catwalk, pose elegantly & look slim in front of camera, spotlight & reporters etc. The most challenging was having to walk in 3 inches high heel (which I never done before) after wearing the gown which is longer than me. ha Ha!
so did I win? Of course! I won:
1) New friendship (knowing other Mothers age frm 30 plus to 58)
2) Memorable & Fun Experience
3) The courage to try again next time.
The winners were mainly in their mid 40s and 50's - the judges' favourites to bag the Titles Of Champion, 1st & 2nd Runner up, Most Photogenic, Most Popular, Most Charming, Most Elegant & The Oldest Mom Award!

Perhaps I should gear myself up to take part again in 10 years time to stand a better chance hoh?
Happy Mothers day to all the lovely Moms out there!

Truly a fantabulous Family Reunion for this Roaring CNY so far
CNY Part1:
1st Day of CNY to 3rd Day:
We were all at Pangkor Island for a great family reunion & escapade.
My aunt frm UK came bck for a 2week break to join us in these auspicious occasion. Initially 37 family members were suppose to be present but 2 backed out due to their dog gave birth to puppies. LOL!!
So left with 35 persons. We stayed in Seaview Hotel. Booked 7-8 rooms all together.
All meals included. We also went for Island tour in 2 boats & had fun snorkling, too.
This time I didn't miss the chance of taking part in all the adventurous activities since my youngest is already 5 years old. My twins had good fun with their favourite uncle (my cousin) riding on the Banana Boat & also went Kayak-ing with their dad & uncle while I stayed at the hotel swimming pool & the beach to swim with my girls.
During the vacation, my UK aunt dislocated her shoulder at the beach. She was sent by ambulance boat to the Manjung Hospital to get it fixed. Luckily, we had a kind soul ( a good old friend) to help us out during the predicament and my aunt could enjoy the rest of her holidays in Pangkor.
Though the weather was super HHHHHOTTTT, we all had a really great time catching up. The kids had the most fun, I'm sure. When kids are happy, parents naturally would enjoy their vacation, too. Dont u think so? So how was your Chinese New Year?

A short but sweet Day trip to Cameron Highlands
As tomorrow is a Public Holiday for our state (Nuzul Quaran), hubby spontaneously decided to drive us all up to Cameron Highlands for a day trip to Jalan-jalan Cari Makan (Going around to look for food).
We took off after I prepared these breakfast (Seafod Tom Yam Fried rice & Tuna Sandwiches) & snack for my family:

So what did we do in Cameron Highlands? These pictures will tell you some of the places we visited :
1) Our first stop at Green View Garden, where we bought many boxes of Oyster mushroom Crisps (original, wasabi, curry & blackpepper flavours)

3) Kids shopping for their Ben10 & Barbie sweaters at the Sunday Pasar Pagi(Morning Market):

4) hotel hopping @ Equatorial, Heritage, Marina Chalet, GreenView hotel, Century Pine Hotel, etc

5) We also tasted the raw jagung (sweet corn), oyster mushroom/ water crest Tempura and the Teh tarik in Cameron Highlands. Not to mention shopping for the sweet & big oranges, Giant Bubble racket for the kids, & other nick nacks.
The kids were pretty excited throughout the trip. though they were whining us all the way & bugged us to stay a night in Camerons. After some negotiation, they somehow gave in to us . We reached home about 6.30pm.
We had simple Maggi Goreng with Fried Fish & steam Vege for dinner.

The kids had fun flying the kites, played badminton, blowed bubbles & running all over.

Today's school holiday adventure
This morning's weather was cloudy but not wet in the morning.
Mommy & daddy decided to take us out for more adventurous outing today. Joining us in our small MPV were AhMa(mom's mommy) and our cousins Yi wern & Hong Hong.

But first we went to market to buy some stuff for prayers for Hungry ghost 9this month is Ghost festival month). Grandma & mommy bought all the things needed to offer prayers to the deceased ancestors and for Ah Kong (both mommy & daddy's dad) tomorrow.
Then after a very light breakfast, we began our journey to Gua Tempurung (a cave about 30 minutes drive from where we stay). On our way, we stopped at Restaurant Embassy for early lunch.

These are some of the dishes we ordered to go with rice:
1) Ginger chicken
2) Cuttlefish & Kangkung with satay sauce
3) Choon Kuen (Lobak- spring roll)
4) Steam 3 types of egg(century, chicken & salted egg)
5) In house fried stuffed taufu
When we arrived, it was Friday prayers' time and we had to wait for about 1 and a half hours for the group tour. While waiting we explored the nearby vicinity. Here are some of the slide pictures:
After playing for a while at the playground near the cave, daddy decided not to wait & move on to another cave as it was about to drizzle. We then headed for the Kuan Yin cave nearer to the city.
After that we drive along other cave temples along the way before going to our next stop- Drive thru at Mc Donalds for sundae cones!

Attended A Play workshop on A Sunday!

Yes indeed I attended a Play workshop today to learn how to play of course.
You will be surprised how much our kids and we as adults have neglected ourselves from "playing" these days due to hectic working & schooling timetable.
In this workshop, we were exposed to ideas of many types of Play to enhance our kids' knowledge as well as bonding between the parents and the children.
Nowadays it's so hard to find time to play...not like our childhood ,our parents' childhood & the childhood of many generations ago. All kids know how to play are digital games nowadays. Same goes for adults whose toys or game are mainly in the facebook or blogging!. Shake head..what a shame to be one of them in this category.
How often do mothers really allow their kids to play with water colours, play dough, let them sweat out at the park & be with them in the wet pool often enough to know what they really like? Do we allow them to help out in the kitchen instead of "No No , go out and dont disturb me or mess up things here!
Well today I relearn how to play again & to accept that "It's OK to let my kids to mess a bit in the playing process!
I'm glad to realise that my messy & cluttered hall shows that my kids enjoy playing but I need to spend more time playing with them instead of facebooking & blogging.

Sickening Sunday cheered up by cows & vege!!
On Saturday 18.7.09, no mood to make breakfast...early morning someone oredi started a cold war here (continuation frm a previous night war over some stupid frogs & the MACC(Malaysian Anti-corruption Commission) issues. Don't ask me to elaborate!
So I took the twins out for a quickie breakfast before sending them to school. Left the two girls to bug HIM. I wont give in this time..not when He has gone beyond my limit of tolerance!!
After I got back by lunch all he was concern was LUNCH after spending the whole stupid morning reading newspaper & DOING nothing!!!!! How luxurious!!
I had to do marketing & then rush to prepare lunch. So as noted in my previous post, I made Penang Fried Kueh Teow & Mamak Mee Goreng for lunch with Lurve.
Then for dinner, here's what I cooked 3 dishes for rice:
.jpg)
Fried Spare ribs marinated with Chinese cooking wine & dark soya sauce, etc.
Fried tofu dip with mayo & chilly-tomato sauce.
Then one stir fried garlic with spinach (forgot to take picture).
Then the next morning, I fried potato wedges & nuggets for breakfast, followed by making chee cheong fun for lunch. Cooked my own chicky mushroom sauce to go with it:

Then in the evening, we went to a fren's Cow & Vege Farm : Take a look the these pics:
Big Thks to Prem for the warm hospitality!!
