Fun with Wall Stickers

During my recent school holidays Penang Trip, I stumbled upon these very nice artistic wall stickers which come in many designs but in 2 packaging. One smaller & 1 bigger ones. There are many different series of them, for various places like living room, kitchen, kids room, bathroom and many more....

Here are some designs which I bought & started my school holiday project at home with them:

1) The living room: Welcome Puppy!

2) Teatime Theme for the kitchen

3) Doggies for the wooden back door

4) Romantic hearts & bubbles for the bedroom

5) Teabreak design for cupboards

Dnt u think these are great ideas to add zest to our old walls & dull spots at home?
I'm addicted to them & will definitely get more!

Relaxation at CWS 4th Day of CNY

CNY Part 3

Since UK aunt is a nature lover & loves retreat, we took her to Clearwater Sanctuary in Batu Gajah on the 5th Day of CNY. This is the place near the spot where the film "The King & I " played by Chow Yuen Fatt & Jodie Foster was shot.

There were many activities one can do in CWS such as swimming, fishing, boating, kayak-ing, bird watching, bicyling, games like tennis, badminton, squash; achery, & golfing.

Aunt Chris really enjoyed the serene views & all the natural landscapes there which she could hardly find in the place she stays in UK.

Here are some of the pics taken.

After this outing, we rushed back home for the reunion dinner sponsored by Aunt Chris at a famous local restaurant. we booked 5 tables for about 50 family members.

How was your CNY outings & family reunion? Bet you have a splendid time, too!

Truly a fantabulous Family Reunion for this Roaring CNY so far

CNY Part1:

1st Day of CNY to 3rd Day:

We were all at Pangkor Island for a great family reunion & escapade.
My aunt frm UK came bck for a 2week break to join us in these auspicious occasion. Initially 37 family members were suppose to be present but 2 backed out due to their dog gave birth to puppies. LOL!!
So left with 35 persons. We stayed in Seaview Hotel. Booked 7-8 rooms all together.
All meals included. We also went for Island tour in 2 boats & had fun snorkling, too.

This time I didn't miss the chance of taking part in all the adventurous activities since my youngest is already 5 years old. My twins had good fun with their favourite uncle (my cousin) riding on the Banana Boat & also went Kayak-ing with their dad & uncle while I stayed at the hotel swimming pool & the beach to swim with my girls.

During the vacation, my UK aunt dislocated her shoulder at the beach. She was sent by ambulance boat to the Manjung Hospital to get it fixed. Luckily, we had a kind soul ( a good old friend) to help us out during the predicament and my aunt could enjoy the rest of her holidays in Pangkor.

Though the weather was super HHHHHOTTTT, we all had a really great time catching up. The kids had the most fun, I'm sure. When kids are happy, parents naturally would enjoy their vacation, too. Dont u think so? So how was your Chinese New Year?

Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfiltri 2009!

What I did with my family?

1)Open houses 1st day & 2nd Day at Uncle zul & uncle Bakar's place.

2) Enjoyed Yummy food: rendang, lemang, nasi impit , kuah kacang, raya cookies & goodies.
3) Dolled them up in Raya costumes...Satu Malaysia spirit mah!

4) Bought the kids a 3 ringpool (that can accomodate 6 adults) frm Tesco. They had great fun at the backyard.

Sad that there is only 1 day more to enjoy , then have to be back to work routine again. Nonetheless, the kids will still be enjoying their school holidays till end of the whole week.

A short but sweet Day trip to Cameron Highlands

As tomorrow is a Public Holiday for our state (Nuzul Quaran), hubby spontaneously decided to drive us all up to Cameron Highlands for a day trip to Jalan-jalan Cari Makan (Going around to look for food).

We took off after I prepared these breakfast (Seafod Tom Yam Fried rice & Tuna Sandwiches) & snack for my family:

So what did we do in Cameron Highlands? These pictures will tell you some of the places we visited :

1) Our first stop at Green View Garden, where we bought many boxes of Oyster mushroom Crisps (original, wasabi, curry & blackpepper flavours)

2) Eating durians (my enemy fruit) by the roadside:

3) Kids shopping for their Ben10 & Barbie sweaters at the Sunday Pasar Pagi(Morning Market):

4) hotel hopping @ Equatorial, Heritage, Marina Chalet, GreenView hotel, Century Pine Hotel, etc

5) We also tasted the raw jagung (sweet corn), oyster mushroom/ water crest Tempura and the Teh tarik in Cameron Highlands. Not to mention shopping for the sweet & big oranges, Giant Bubble racket for the kids, & other nick nacks.

The kids were pretty excited throughout the trip. though they were whining us all the way & bugged us to stay a night in Camerons. After some negotiation, they somehow gave in to us . We reached home about 6.30pm.

We had simple Maggi Goreng with Fried Fish & steam Vege for dinner.

My own version of Portugese Assam Fish & Prawn

So this post will be a continuation from my previous post. What did I cook for my beloved family tonight after the Twins' taekwando & hubby's Golf far away at Damai Laut?

1) My own version of Portugese Assam Selar Goreng & prawn with brinjals, carrots, & green gourd:

2) Udang Assam Jawa (Tamarind Assam Prawn)

3) Oyster Sauce Taufu with Minced Meat,Prawn & Brocolli

Yummy looking? Well I love the tastes myself, too. My family "gasak" (wallup) everything leaving all the plates empty. Must be due to their activities prior to dinner: taekwando, golfing, playground!!

Merdeka Outing (2)- Visit to the World's Largest Buddha Relics & Tibetan Antiques Cultural Exhibition

Thks to uncle Asokan who informed me about this great exhibition.

Have you ever seen Buddha's blood, flesh & bone relics? here they are:

This is God of Prosperity (some may call him Choy Sun Yeh):

The kids also had their chance to bathe the Little Buddha & got blessings from the Tibetan Monks who sprinkled holy rice over us & gave us sweets & candies.

It was indeed a very interesting, eye opening & knowledgeable event both for us as parents as well as for my 4 kids. The best thing is admission to this great exhibition is FREE!As today is the last day of the exhibition, we were told that the organiser will fly back all the relics & antiques back to their places of origin like Taiwan & Singapore, etc.

Merdeka outing (1) - Clearwater Sanctuary, Batu Gajah

Today is Merdeka Day (Malaysia's Independence Day)..Merdeka! Merdeka! Merdeka!

Daddy took all of us to Clearwater to spend about 5 hours there. Auntie Pat(mommy's old schoolmate), her hubby & her twins met up with us there, too).

As there were no one in the swimming pool, mommy allowed us to have some fun splashing time all by ourselves (no crowd , no fear of H1N1).

Look at how much fun we had "pooling" around at the swimming pool:

More pics at mommy's vacation blog here:

After that we spent some time in the Game room playing computer games & indoor playpen while mommy facebook & daddy read his newspaper. We also had some snack, sandwiches & fruits brought from home & also shared by Auntie Pat.

Then we left for our next visit to... The World's LArgest Buddha Relics & Tibetan Antiques Cultural Exhibition. Stay tune for the next post on this.
