Putting Your Child's Best FOOt forward.

I used to hear old granny said "never let babies wear shoes when their feet are not ready". Nowadays everyone seem to be talking about healthy feet especially for kids and shoes play a very important role to provide the right comfort & support to ensure proper arch support for your kids'feet.

Thus, it's really important to measure a child's feet accurately before buying them every pair of shoes.
Be it a prewalker boy or girl's baby shoes

or your baby's 1st walking shoes:

That's because ill-fitting shoes can have a serious impact on your child's foot health for years to come.

To be sure that your child is wearing shoes that fit properly, we should find retailer who have trained staff to measure and fit your child with shoes, or if that's not convenient, use one of their specially developed tools to help you to measure your child's feet at home.

Take a look at this useful video to learn the important things to look for when fitting your daughters buckle up school shoes. Here you will find very informative guide on how to check if your kids' shoe is suitable and well fitted for your child's delicate feet. You can learn to be your own expert in checking your kids' feet and their shoes fitting.
For more information on fitting and advice for girl's shoes please visit http://www.startriteshoes.com.

Nowadays buying shoes online for your little ones can be so much more convenient and gives you more confident when you have this tool called "Click & Fit".

The video shows how an innovative new technology (developed by a kids' shoe manufacturer) can help parents measure their kids' feet from home. Measuring childrens feet at home can be done quickly and easily with Click'n'Fit by parents who wish to buy fitted kids shoes online.

H1N1 or H1N4 in our home?

Past few days, we have been playing doctor, nurse & patients at home since Dennis our second twin first presented with all the H1N1 symptoms. He had high fever, sorethroat, cough plus muscular pain over his calf until he could barely stand & walk. A week earlier, hubby had a bad flu with fever but no sorethroat.

After Dennis, I started to have mild fever. Thanks to the flu jab I was entitled to take in my healthcare profession, i didnt have much flu or sorethroat but only bodyaches. Then my 5 yr old princess got the bug (fever & cough), after that my first twin Daniel was next in line. Finally needless to say & expectedly my youngest princess took the last in queue.

I didnt choose to admit them in the government nor private Paeds ward as I am more confident & comfortable to self quarantine and nurse all of us at home. Doctor didnt do any swap as expected nor give any Tamiflu (better that way coz we were told TAmiflu can cause brain damage in children). I just presume we had it!

So in the recovery period of this H1N1-like symptoms, we all had better bonding at home, spending time playing(I made play dough for my bored kids), we played doctor, nurses & patients (the kids took turn tobe in charge of taking temperature with the digital thermometer I once won frm a contest). One thing for sure, the thermometer was our most useful play toy.

Take a look at some of these shots I took;

1) 4 yr old Little princess play nurse while kor kor Dennis was the patient:

2) 5yr old princess sponging herself with wet towel & taking her own temperature:

3) The four bored sickos playing with homemade play dough mommy made for them:

4) The dettol hamper worth RM500 which I won lately was indeed very handy for us. I also changed all their toothbrush during this period:

Thank God we are all getting better now. To think positive, at least we all now have better immunity to H1N1!

Help! I need ideas to clear clutters by kids at home!

Just cleared one corner , they start creating another mess else where....like ants making nests!

These are my little chicky girls who are fond of making clutters at home for their domestic slave mom to clear.

Why oh why kids like to mess up their home?

Juliana loves to create packages of schoolbags here & there.
When asked to clear her things, she will migrate all her mess to another corner and tells you that she has cleared the part you wanted her to do. (Hammering myeslf!!)

Jasmine is also learning from her nowadays.

any great suggestions how to make the tidiness last longer after each time I clear the clutter/mess?

Suprising Singapore..that's where we went for School Holidays!

We were in Spore for school holidays frm 6June to 9th June. After that we stayed a night in Malacca(will blog about it next).

Here are the slide pictures that will speak a zillion words to represent the fun & joy my kids had, spending the short but sweet 4days 3 nights with their cousin brother & sister in Potong Pasir and visiting the Spore Zoo, the Science Centre, Snow City & the Merlion Park.

We had great discounts paying in Malaysian Ringgit for the Science Centre & Snow City attraction package when we flashed our Malaysian passports. It was disappointing to have forgotten to bring along our passports for the first day Zoo visit & we had to pay 2.43X more in Sing dollars for the entrance tickets.! !!

Nevertheless, my kids' joy & laughter are PRICELESS!!

We left Spore & embarked in Malacca on 9th June & spent Juliana'a bday on 10thJune 09 in Malacca, too.

On 11th June hubby & I spent sometime on our own after parking the 4 kids at the nursery. We pampered ourselves with Thai Massage at AROKAYA, Ipoh Parade. Then we had lunch at Moven Peak...conveyor belt steamboat.

Also ordered claypot crab fried mee hoon. The taste....cannot beat the Crab fried mee hoon at Kuala Gula (1 hour drive from Taiping town.

Sporty Saturday!

Firstly my apology for a long constipated blog again. Pst few weeks had been very busy week for me and tiring too having had so many home visits to make. But it's good coz that means more additional income doing locums. Most important I could reach out to those patients who are unable to get treatment in the hospital for one reason or another.

My body is aching..longing for a good massage but I just dont have the time. Every weekend is soooo precious to be spent with my beloved family.

Last Saturday (30May 09)

Today is my late daddy's birthday. How we wish we could celebrate his birthday but..he has left us last February with no sign of him in my dreams. We miss u a lot "Di". We had offered prayer for him on his Chinese birthdate which fell on "Chang" (dumpling)festival on 28May09.

Coincidently 30thMay 2009 is also my girls' Sports Day in Merryland Nursery/Kindergarten. I cancelled all my locum appointments to be there to witness my girls performing. It was quite disappointing to note that both my girls' mood were like the groomy weather that morning of their Sport's Day. They were clingy, grouchy & just not like normal days when they come home to express what they would be doing for the actual Sports Day.

Here are some shots taken ...

the sulky faces.

The simple & small scale occasion on a cloudy day. Luckily it didnt rain after the slight worrying drizzle!

Not many shots of the actual sport event coz I had to coax both the girls & run together with them due to their "low" mood. But their mood got better after the prize giving ceremony & towards the end of the whole event. Kek Seh Ngo!!(Damn it)

My little girl oso wanna blog at age3

I couldnt believe my ears when my 3 yr old Jasmine asking for my cameraphone & telling her 4 yr old cheh cheh Juliana to take her pics..for what???

Jasmine: Cheh wait ah I ask mommy for her camera first ah..the u take photos for me.

Jasmine : Mommy may i borrow your camera ?

Mommy: Why?

Jasmine: I want cheh cheh to take my pictures....I want to put in my blog.

Mommy (dumbfounded): Your blog? You have a blog meh?

Jasmine : Yes...let me show you.(pointing at her personal laptop)

Gosh ..i didnt knw that my blogging passion & interest had creeped into her.

Mommy: Daddy , maybe I should start teaching her to blog hoh? Let her blog her own diary.
Daddy: No lah..she is still too young
(but in mommy's heart I believe Jasmine will surely be able to do it if we really put our hearts to teach her...oni fear is that she may accidentally remove some computer data for us..HahHA!)

Backdated post: 10 January 2009

Took the kiddos to The Aquatic & Pet Shop at Greentwn Mall today.

There were a decent range of fishes, domestic pets & aquariums available for sale.
I'm impressed with the table aquarium & the normal aquariums dressed with various themes like Winter, Ancient, Coral, etc.The price ranges from RM1K to RM5K.

The kids enjoyed playing with the hamsters, iguana, rabbits, cats, tortoise, etc. They also saw a mini SHARK in the displayed aquarium.

This shop sells quite a variety of pet food, too.

Clean n nice eduactional place for pet lovers n kids. The staff are also friendly & didnt bother with me snapping the pictures!

Just outside the pet shop is the Greentwn Mall food court. Convenient for people who didnt want to scout around for food after the visit.
