Tonight we attended the Wesak eve prayers , offerings to Buddha & candle walk at IBDA garden.
It was a simple yet peaceful celebration with chanting, offerings to Buddha , candle walk, lamp oils offerings for d deceased & bathing the Little Buddha.
I feel lucky and happy to be able to attend this beautiful occasion with my whole family.

Homemade Chee Cheong fun
... With home prepared condiments & homemade Mushroom minced meat sauce!!
Yummy & pocket friendly.
Ingredients:
2 Kati Chee Cheong fun ( bgt from local market)@ Rm1.40 per Kati.
Sesame seeds ( oven toasted or fry)
Red onions( fry in cooking oil)
Tim Cheong (sweet red sauce bgt Frm sundry shop)
Dried prawns, mushrooms n minced pork , shallots , corn flour & oyster sauce for the gravy.
Dried prawns, cili boh, shallots n Tim Cheong for d sambal sauce.
Lots of preparations but easy to self mix and delicious to eat!!!

Diamond for Xmas gift
As the saying goes "Diamonds are girls' best friend" but I would rather have the saying of "Money is women's best friend!" because with $$$ one can buy anything besides diamond! Having said that,I only had 2 diamonds in my life. One is a very tiny (sorry dear if I need to emphasize on the size) pair of diamond earrings which my "dear" bought for me during one of our honeymoons to Bangkok/Phuket which I'm still wearing till today. The other was a diamond pendant/chain which I won from a radio valentine contest.Sad to say I lost it while swimming in a pool (which I've forgotten to remove before the swim).
Since Xmas is just around the corner & since I haven't got a diamond ring from my hubby (our wedding ring was just a gold ring), perhaps I should start shopping around for diamond rings and ask him to use his VISA to buy me eco friendly ones from Created-Diamonds especially Diamonds by Gemesis.

Happy Deepavali 2010!
This year Deepavali was celebrated on 5 Nov 2010.
What is Deepavali?
As we all knw, Deepavali or Diwali means "festival of lights". It's a colorful festival celebrated by all Hindus worldwide. One important practice that the Hindus follow during the festival is to light oil lamps in their homes on Deepavali morning. By lighting the oil lamps, the Hindus are thanking the gods for the happiness, knowledge, peace and wealth that they have received. The Hindus consider Deepavali as one of the most important festivals to celebrate.
The Legend
It is a celebration of triumph of good over evil where Lord Krishna detroyed a wicked demon named Narakasura of the Pradyoshapuram kingdom.
Bathing in Oil Bath
On that day people will wake up early in the morning and take oil bath or Ganga isnan which has been a traditional health habit of India for many decades. The oil bath is purificatory in intent and is a symbolic rite, a symbolic cleansing leading to a new beginning.

Deepavali Kolam
is a form of sandpainting that is drawn using rice powder by female members of the family in front of their home but nowadays it is commonly seen in shopping complexes and shops.
Kolams are thought to bestow prosperity to homes.

The World Stroke Organization (WSO) is calling for urgent action to address the silent stroke epidemic by launching the “One in Six” campaign on World Stroke Day, 29 October.
World statistic shows every 6 seconds, 1 person will die of stroke!

Medical Uniforms & Scrub Tops
As healthcare workers working in a hospital environment, it is compulsory for us to wear our uniforms.
The most common complaints I hear from my nursing collegues are about their boring standard nursing uniforms. There are not much choice of pattern to choose from locally here.
Internationally the Medical Uniforms wore by medical staff (whether they are doctors, nurses or paramedics) are more or less the same design.For the head of units/department or Health Ministry to choose a Medical uniform/ scrub top to suit everyone’s individual tastes sounds like a daunting task. Perhaps that is why most of the uniform seen locally here are quite standardised, boring and dull!
However lately I came across some Scrub Tops which are pretty cool, fashionable, affordable, even fun and yet looking professional.
My nursing collegues will surely be delighted to have a chance to wear these fashionable range of uniform. They will sure wish that the hospital management would allow them to put on these unique selection of fashionable and colourful range of nursing uniform to add cheer and personality to their daily nursing chores.
My doctor collegues working in the Intensive care unit especially the younger age group might just love the choice of these slim cut, streamlined, colorful and comfortable scrub tops. The colourful patterns will surely cheer up the sick patients staying in the intensive care units and regular wards and even speed up their recovery!!
